Seating Auditions

Placements for the Spring 2024 concert cycle are now closed. Please contact puwe@princeton.edu with any questions.

All interested musicians may audition for PUWE during the first weeks of classes of the Fall semester. These auditions are primarily for seating purposes, so don’t stress! There are no cuts for returning members, but everyone must audition. Prior to the beginning of each year, a sign-up form and all auditions materials will be available on this website. You are encouraged to sign up online or by email.

Online sign up: Click this link to sign up for an audition! *Audition information currently forthcoming.*

Location: TBD

Audition materials: TBD

Please note: If you miss the official audition times at the beginning of the semester and are still interested, it is still possible to join the ensemble throughout the year. Just send us a message at puwe@princeton.edu or to any of our officers with “Audition Request” + your INSTRUMENT in the subject line and we’ll schedule a time to hear you.

(for incoming students):

If you have just been accepted to Princeton, you will be invited to attend “Princeton Preview,” a program offered on two weekends in April designed to give pre-frosh a taste of life as a Princeton student. A similar activities fair is held in Dillon Gym during Preview as well.. Representatives will be present at the PUWE table to answer all of your questions and, if you are interested, sign you up for the PUWE listserv mailing list.

Music Department / Lewis Center for the Arts Open House:

Each year during Freshman Orientation, the music department / Lewis Center for the Arts holds open house to introduce many of its opportunities, including its ensembles. A representative will be present to speak about PUWE and answer any questions you may have.
